이장우 대전시장이 대전과 충남의 행정통합 추진을 위한 사전 준비에 만전을 기할 것을 지시했다. 

17일 열린 주간업무회의에서 이 시장은 행정통합을 위한 공론화 작업을 최우선 과제로 삼고, 시민 공감대 형성을 위해 정치권 및 충남도와의 협의를 체계적으로 추진할 것을 강조했다.  

대전시는 현재 특례사항 발굴, 법률안 조문화, 조항별 필요성 검토, 타 법률과의 충돌 여부 분석 등을 진행 중이며, 향후 충남도와 협의해 통합안을 마련할 계획이다. 

이를 위해 민관협의체 소통·기획 분과를 구성하고 3차 회의를 개최하는 등 통합 논의를 본격화할 방침이다.  

이 시장은 "정국이 혼란스러운 상황에서 대형 정책을 안정적으로 추진하는 것이 중요하다"며, 행정통합이 지역주의나 정치적 이해관계에 휘말리지 않도록 철저한 대비가 필요하다고 당부했다.  

또한, 오는 22일 대전에서 예정된 윤석열 대통령 탄핵 반대 집회와 관련해 경찰청과 협력하여 철저한 안전관리 대책을 마련할 것을 주문했다. 그는 "광주에서 열린 탄핵 찬반 집회에 많은 인파가 몰렸다"며 "대전에서도 평화적인 집회가 진행될 수 있도록 안전관리에 만전을 기하라"고 지시했다.   

이 시장은 대전형 반도체 인재 양성 사업을 추진하며, 이를 "전례 없이 많은 시비(市費)를 투입하는 중요한 정책"으로 평가했다. 

그는 "대전에는 현재 상장 기업이 64개에 달하며, 향후 6대 전략 사업을 이끌어갈 지역 인재를 적극적으로 육성해야 한다"며 "대학과 협력해 학과 개편을 병행하고, 자본·산업용지·혁신기술 등을 결합해 단기간 내 강력한 경제도시로 성장할 수 있도록 해야 한다"고 밝혔다.  

아울러 유망 소상공인 지원 사업과 관련해, "효과가 뛰어나다면 내년에는 업체 수와 예산을 확대하겠다"며 "지역 소상공인이 전국으로 진출할 수 있는 발판을 마련하는 것이 궁극적인 목표"라고 강조했다.  

도시가스 미공급 지역 문제 해결에 대해서도 적극적인 대응을 주문했다. 이 시장은 기성동을 사례로 들며, "대전광역시 내 동 단위 지역에 아직 도시가스가 공급되지 않는 것은 공직자로서 반성해야 할 문제"라며 "현재 계획된 수준을 넘어 특단의 대책을 마련해 조기 공급 방안을 모색하라"고 지시했다.  

이날 회의에서는 하천 내 노후 차집관로 정비 및 우기 전 준설 완료, 고향사랑기부제 홍보, 제2시립미술관 및 음악전용공연장 건립 추진, 공공자전거 '타슈' 인증 홍보 강화, 노후계획도시 정비사업 추진 등의 과제가 논의됐다.  

이 시장은 "대전의 변화는 공직자들의 노력 덕분"이라며, 최근 시민들로부터 대전의 제설 대책과 관광 활성화에 대한 긍정적인 평가를 들었다고 전했다. 

또한, 지난 16일 대전 하나시티즌이 포항 스틸러스를 상대로 3대 0 승리를 거둔 것과 관련해 "올해 대전에 더 좋은 일이 많을 것이라는 희망이 든다"며 지역사회에 활력을 불어넣는 요소로 작용하길 기대했다.
