대전시의회 복지환경위원회가 13일 회의를 열고 이효성 의원(국민의힘, 대덕구1)이 대표 발의한 '대전광역시 장애인 건강 및 재활 지원 조례 일부개정조례안'에 대한 심의를 마치고 원안 의결했다.

이 의원이 대표 발의한 이번 개정안은 장애인의 위생관리를 위한 편의증진을 지원하여 장애인 건강권 보장과 삶의 질 향상에 기여하고자 하는 목적을 가지고 있다. 

특히, 장애인 목욕시설 설치 및 운영 지원 조항을 신설하여 장애인들이 보다 나은 환경에서 목욕할 수 있도록 하는 내용을 담고 있다.

조례안을 대표 발의한 이효성 의원은 “목욕은 건강과 위생을 유지하는 데 중요한 요소로, 장애를 가진 사람들도 언제든 접근 가능한 시설과 환경에서 목욕을 할 수 있어야 한다”며, “이번 개정안을 통해 지역사회에 거주하는 장애인이 목욕하기 편리한 환경을 조성하는 디딤돌이 될 수 있을 것”이라고 개정 의의를 밝혔다.

이 의원은 또한 “장애인들이 기본적인 위생 관리를 통해 건강을 유지할 수 있도록 하는 것은 사회의 책임”이라며, “이번 조례 개정이 장애인들의 삶의 질을 높이는 데 큰 도움이 될 것”이라고 강조했다.

조례안은 20일, 제284회 임시회 제2차 본회의에서 최종 의결될 예정이다. 이 조례안의 통과는 대전시의 장애인 복지 정책에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 것으로 기대된다.
