충남도는 농림축산식품부가 주관한 ‘농촌공간 정비사업’ 공모에서 당진시가 선정되어 국비 23억 원을 확보했다고 10일 밝혔다. 이번 사업은 난개발과 농촌 소멸에 대응하기 위해 농촌의 삶터, 일터, 쉼터로서의 기능을 회복하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.

2021년부터 추진 중인 이 사업은 농촌 생활환경을 저해하는 유해시설의 이전 및 정비를 통해 정주 여건을 개선하는 데 중점을 두고 있다. 

공모 선정 대상지는 당진시 신평면 초대리와 남산리 지구로, 당진시는 2028년까지 축사 및 폐축사를 철거하여 정주 환경을 개선하고 주민 역량 강화 및 민관 협력(거버넌스) 운영을 위해 총 45억 원을 투입할 계획이다.

이번 선정으로 충남도 내에서는 이전에 선정된 지역을 포함해 총 11개 지구에 1000억 원을 투입하여 정비를 추진하게 된다. 구체적으로는 축사, 빈집, 폐공장 등 유해시설을 철거하고 살기 좋은 농촌 마을을 조성하기 위한 노력을 기울일 예정이다.

충남도는 그동안 사전 전문가 컨설팅을 진행하고 현장 확인을 통해 유해시설로 인한 주민 불편 및 피해 최소화 방안을 함께 고민해 왔으며, 도내 시군이 공모에 선정될 수 있도록 적극 지원해왔다. 

이번 사업을 통해 당진시는 더욱 쾌적하고 살기 좋은 농촌 환경을 조성할 것으로 기대된다.

With this selection, a total of 100 billion won will be invested in 11 districts in Chungcheongnam-do, including previously selected areas, to promote development. Chungcheongnam-do has been conducting prior expert consulting and on-site inspections to consider ways to minimize inconvenience and damage to residents caused by harmful facilities, and has been actively supporting cities and counties in the province to be selected for the public offering.

Through this project, Dangjin City is expected to create a more pleasant and livable rural environment.
