태안군이 한국서부발전과 함께 추진 중인 국가보훈대상자 지원 사업이 대상자들의 호응과 지역사회의 호평 속에 성공적으로 자리잡고 있다. 

이번 사업은 열악한 환경에 처한 국가보훈대상자들을 대상으로 주거환경 개선과 영양섭취가 부족한 대상자에게 밑반찬 및 간식을 지원하는 것을 주요 내용으로 한다. 

이는 국가보훈대상자의 영예로운 삶과 복지 증진을 도모하고, 맞춤형 보훈복지 모델을 구축하기 위한 노력의 일환이다.

태안군은 국가보훈대상자를 발굴·추천하고, 한국서부발전은 지원 사업 관련 계획을 수립하여 시행 중이다. 대전보훈병원 진료자에 대한 간식쿠폰(1인당 8천 원)과 집수리, 밑반찬 지원 등 대상자들에게 꼭 필요한 지원책에도 신경을 썼다.

김광식 태안군보훈단체협의회장은 “매월 병원가는 날이 소풍가는 날처럼 즐겁고, 지원 덕분에 건강이 좋아지는 것 같아 감사하다”고 말했다.

태안군은 한국서부발전과의 지속적인 협력을 도모하며, 국방부와 함께 진행하는 ‘무공훈장 찾아주기’ 운동과 참전명예수당 지급 등 국가보훈대상자의 안정을 위한 군 차원의 노력도 계속할 방침이다.

군 관계자는 “국가보훈대상자 지원 사업은 희생과 헌신에 대한 최고의 예우와 존경으로 이어질 수 있도록 하는 노력”이라며, 앞으로도 한국서부발전 등 관계기관과 함께 최선을 다하겠다고 강조했다.
