대전시교육청은 4일 대구광역시교육청 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 IB(International Baccalaureate, 국제 바칼로레아) 프로그램 도입 및 안정적 운영을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 

이번 협약은 IB 프로그램의 성공적인 도입과 운영을 위해 두 교육청 간의 상호 협력을 강화하는 데 중점을 두고 있다.

IB 프로그램은 국제적으로 인정받는 교육 체제로, 역량 중심 교육과정을 기반으로 하여 학습자의 자기주도적 성장을 촉진하는 개념 이해 및 탐구학습 활동을 강조한다. 

이번 협약은 설동호 대전시교육감과 강은희 대구시교육감이 참석하여 각 교육청이 보유한 경험과 자원을 공유하고, 창의융합형 미래 인재를 양성하기 위한 협력체제를 구축하기로 약속하였다.

주요 협약 내용에는 IB 프로그램 도입과 안정적 운영을 위한 IB 본부와의 협약 및 협력 사항, 교원 연수, 프로그램 운영학교 간 교류 지원, 재정 분담, 그리고 IB 프로그램 도입을 원하는 다른 교육청의 참여에 관한 내용이 포함된다.

설동호 교육감은 “시도교육청 간 긴밀한 협력으로 교실수업 혁신과 창의융합형 글로벌 인재를 양성할 수 있는 교육환경을 조성하겠다”며, “2025학년도 대전에 도입되는 IB 프로그램이 학교 현장에 안착될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

이번 협약 체결은 대전시교육청이 IB 프로그램을 통해 교육 혁신을 이루고, 학생들에게 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 교육을 제공하기 위한 중요한 발걸음으로 평가된다.

Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education Signs Business Agreement for IB Program Introduction
