이응우 충남 계룡시장은 23일 개최된 출입기자 오찬 간담회에서 "2025년 새해에는 500여 공직자와 함께 시민을 최우선으로 생각하며 계룡시의 새로운 도약을 이루겠다"고 다짐했다. 

이날 간담회에서는 2024년 주요 성과를 되짚고, 2025년 시정 운영 방향과 주요 과제를 구체적으로 설명하는 시간을 가졌다.

이 시장은 지난해 계룡시가 이룬 성과로 ▲인구증가율 충청권 1위 및 전국 5위 달성 ▲살기 좋고 안전한 도시 선정 ▲역대 최대 규모 공모사업 선정 및 국·도비 확보 ▲공약평가 2년 연속 최우수 등 다양한 지표에서 우수한 평가를 받은 점을 강조했다. 또한 지방상수도 현대화 사업 선정 등 시민 삶의 질을 높이는 사업도 성공적으로 추진했다고 설명했다.

2025년 계룡시는 '파워풀 국방도시', '스마트 전원도시', '웰니스 행복도시'라는 3대 시정 목표를 내세우며 계룡시만의 차별화된 발전 전략을 본격적으로 추진할 계획이다.

이 시장은 계룡시를 국방 중심 도시로 더욱 발전시키기 위해 ▲국립 군사박물관 건립 ▲K-국방 컨벤션센터 설립 ▲지능형센터 기술지원 사업 ▲국방 관련 핵심 공공기관 이전 및 유치 등의 사업을 추진하겠다고 밝혔다.

그는 이러한 프로젝트들이 타 지역과 차별화된 경쟁력을 확보하며 계룡시를 국방의 중심지로 자리매김하게 할 것이라고 강조했다.

아울러 이 시장은 친환경적인 스마트 전원도시 조성을 목표로 ▲향적산 산림 휴양타운 조성 ▲기후대응 도시숲 및 생활 밀착형 숲 조성 ▲빛과 꽃의 정원도시 프로젝트 등을 통해 자연과 도시가 조화를 이루는 공간을 만들겠다는 계획이다. 특히, 두계천 자연재해 위험 개선지구 정비사업과 시니어타운 조성 사업도 추진해 안전한 복지 중심의 도시 환경을 구축하겠다고 밝혔다.
