KT&G 상상마당 부산이 지역 예술대학 졸업생들의 작품을 소개하는 ‘제5회 ARTISTART(아티스타트)’ 전시를 개최한다.

‘ARTISTART’는 잠재력 있는 지역 신진 작가를 발굴하기 위해 KT&G 상상마당 부산이 지난 2021년부터 운영해 온 대표적인 작가 지원 프로그램이다. 

‘ARTISTART’는 ‘ART(예술)’, ‘ARTIST(작가)’, ‘START(시작)’의 합성어로, 작가로서 첫걸음을 내딛는 지역 예술대학 졸업생들의 시작을 응원하기 위해 기획됐다.

이번 전시는 이달 17일부터 2월 16일까지 KT&G 상상마당 부산 갤러리에서 진행되며, 방문객들은 대학 졸업을 앞둔 예비 작가들의 작품 100여 점을 만나볼 수 있다.

 상상마당은 전문가의 심사를 통해 우수자 8인을 선정하고, 소정의 상금과 KT&G 상상마당 대치 갤러리 순회전 참여 기회를 제공한다. 

또, 일부 전시 작품에 대해서는 ‘울산국제아트페어’와 ‘부산일러스트페어’ 출품 후원을 통해 예비 작가들이 인지도를 높일 수 있도록 지원한다.

KT&G 김정윤 문화공헌부 전시담당 파트장은 “ARTISTART가 작가를 꿈꾸는 지역 예술대학 졸업생들이 대중과 만나는 뜻깊은 기회가 되길 바란다”며, “앞으로도 신진 예술가들을 위한 실질적인 지원으로 문화예술계의 발전에 기여하겠다” 고 밝혔다.

한편, KT&G 상상마당은 신진 예술가들의 창작활동을 지원하고 대중에게 폭넓은 문화경험을 제공하는 복합문화예술공간으로, 2007년 ‘상상마당 홍대’를 시작으로 논산·춘천·대치·부산까지 총 5곳에서 운영되며 문화예술 저변 확대와 지역문화 발전에 기여하고 있다. 

상상마당의 연간 방문객은 약 300만명에 달하며, 매년 3,000여개의 문화예술 프로그램이 운영되고 있다.

KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan is holding the ‘5th ARTISTART’ exhibition to introduce the works of local art college graduates.

‘ARTISTART’ is a representative artist support program that KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan has been operating since 2021 to discover potential local emerging artists.

‘ARTISTART’ is a compound word of ‘ART’, ‘ARTIST’, and ‘START’, and was planned to support the beginning of local art college graduates taking their first steps as artists.

This exhibition will be held at the KT&G Sangsang Madang Busan Gallery from the 17th of this month to February 16th, and visitors can see over 100 works by prospective artists about to graduate from college.

Sangsang Madang selects eight excellent artists through expert review and provides them with a certain amount of prize money and the opportunity to participate in the KT&G Sangsang Madang Daechi Gallery Tour Exhibition.

In addition, some of the exhibition works are supported for the ‘Ulsan International Art Fair’ and ‘Busan Illustration Fair’ to help aspiring artists raise their profile.

KT&G Cultural Contribution Department Exhibition Manager Kim Jeong-yoon said, “I hope ARTISTART will be a meaningful opportunity for local art college graduates who dream of becoming artists to meet the public,” and added, “We will continue to contribute to the development of the cultural arts industry by providing practical support for emerging artists.”
