대전 중구가 2025년 제13회 대한민국 축제콘텐츠 대상에서 대전효문화뿌리축제가 축제 문화유산/역사 부문 대상을 수상했다고 15일 밝혔다. 

이번 수상은 대전효문화뿌리축제가 4년 연속으로 대상을 수상하는 쾌거로, 2022년 특별상, 2023년 콘텐츠 부문 대상, 2024년 예술·전통 부문 대상을 이어 올해는 축제 문화유산/역사 부문에서의 영예를 안았다.

대한민국 축제콘텐츠 대상은 (사)한국축제콘텐츠협회에서 한국의 지역축제가 세계적으로 발전할 수 있도록 독려하기 위해 시상하는 상으로, 축제 관련 전문가들이 작년에 열린 지역축제 중 지역발전에 이바지하고 발전 가능성이 높은 축제를 객관적이고 엄중한 1, 2차 심사를 거쳐 선정한다.

김제선 중구청장은 “대전효문화뿌리축제를 위해 애써주신 관계자분들과 축제에 함께 참여하고 방문해주신 주민분들 덕분에 4년 연속 수상이라는 쾌거를 이루게 되었다.”라며 “올해도 다양한 볼거리, 즐길거리와 함께 우리 전통 문화인 효의 가치를 알리는 축제를 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.

대전효문화뿌리축제는 천혜의 자연환경 속에서 뿌리공원 ,한국족보박물관 ,효문화마을 ,효문화진흥원 등 효문화 인프라를 기반으로 한 ‘효’와 ‘뿌리’의 가치를 되새기는 전 세계 유일한 축제이다. 

작년 축제에는 24만여 명의 방문객과 105개 문중이 참여하였으며, 지역문화예술인의 참여와 주민협력형 프로그램의 가시적인 확대 등을 통해 지역상생축제로 발돋움했다.

올해 축제는 더욱 풍성한 프로그램과 함께 효문화의 중요성을 알리는 다양한 활동이 계획되어 있으며, 지역 주민과 관광객이 함께 참여할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 예정이다.

Daejeon Hyomunhwa Root Festival Wins Grand Prize in Korea Festival Contents

Daejeon Jung-gu announced on the 15th that the Daejeon Hyomunhwa Root Festival won the grand prize in the festival cultural heritage/history category at the 13th Korea Festival Contents Awards in 2025.

This award is the fourth consecutive year that the Daejeon Hyomunhwa Root Festival has won the grand prize, following the Special Award in 2022, the Grand Prize in the Content Category in 2023, and the Grand Prize in the Arts and Tradition Category in 2024. The Korea Festival Contents Awards is an award presented by the Korea Festival Contents Association to encourage local festivals in Korea to develop globally. Festival experts select festivals that have contributed to local development and have high potential for development among local festivals held last year through objective and rigorous first and second rounds of screening.

Kim Je-seon, the head of Jung-gu District Office, said, “Thanks to the staff who worked hard for the Daejeon Hyomunhwa Root Festival and the residents who participated and visited the festival, we have achieved the great feat of winning the award for the fourth consecutive year.” He added, “This year, we will do our best to create a festival that promotes the value of our traditional culture of filial piety along with various things to see and enjoy.”

The Daejeon Hyomunhwa Root Festival is the only festival in the world that reflects on the value of ‘filial piety’ and ‘roots’ based on the infrastructure of filial piety culture, such as the Root Park, the Korean Genealogy Museum, the Hyomunhwa Village, and the Hyomunhwa Promotion Center, in a natural environment blessed with nature.

Last year’s festival attracted 240,000 visitors and 105 clans, and it has grown into a regional coexistence festival through the participation of local cultural artists and the visible expansion of resident cooperation programs.

This year’s festival is planned to feature even richer programs and various activities that promote the importance of filial piety culture, and will provide opportunities for local residents and tourists to participate together.
