세종시가 올해 언론인들이 선정한 ‘2024년도 세종시 10대 뉴스’에서 ‘법원설치법 개정안 국회 통과’를 1위로 발표했다. 세종시는 30일, 올해 주목받은 뉴스 24건 중 시청 출입 언론인들이 직접 선정한 결과를 공개했다.

언론인들은 세종시의 오랜 염원이었던 세종지방법원 설치가 지난 9월 법안이 통과됨에 따라 최종 확정된 점을 높이 평가했다. 이로써 세종시는 행정, 입법, 사법 3부 기능을 갖춘 실질적인 행정수도로 거듭날 수 있는 기반을 마련하게 되었다.

공동 2위에는 ‘한글문화도시 지정 추진’과 ‘이응패스 출시 등 세종시 대중교통 대혁신’이 선정되었다. 세종시는 한글과 한글문화 특화사업을 지속적으로 추진하며, 세종대왕의 묘호를 물려받은 도시로서의 정체성을 확립해온 노력을 인정받았다.
