대전시교육청은 12월 9일 대전천동초등학교 다목적강당에서 지역주민을 대상으로 (가칭)천동중학교 신축공사 설계설명회를 실시했다고 밝혔다.

(가칭)천동중학교는 천동3구역 주거환경개선사업에 따른 학생 수 증가에 대응하기 위해 총 247억원을 투자하여 동구 천동 92-1일원 부지에 설립될 예정이다. 

이 학교는 2025년 4월까지 설계용역을 마친 후, 2025년 8월부터 2027년 1월까지 약 18개월간 공사가 진행되어 2027년에 개교할 계획이다.

설계설명회에는 지역주민을 비롯해 대전광역시의회 송인석 의원, 교육청, 동구청, LH공사 등 유관기관 관계자들이 참석하였다. 

이들은 학교 배치 및 학교 내외 주변시설 현황에 대해 안내받고, 학교 설립에 대한 다양한 의견을 수렴하는 시간을 가졌다. 

이번 설명회는 지역주민의 의견을 반영하여 학교 설립이 원활하게 진행될 수 있도록 하는 중요한 기회가 되었다는 평가다.

Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it held a design briefing session for the construction of (tentative name) Cheondong Middle School for local residents at the multipurpose auditorium of Daejeon Cheondong Elementary School on December 9.

(tentative name) Cheondong Middle School will be built on the site of Cheondong 92-1, Dong-gu with a total investment of 24.7 billion won to respond to the increase in the number of students due to the Cheondong 3-gu residential environment improvement project.

The school is scheduled to complete the design service by April 2025, and construction will be carried out for approximately 18 months from August 2025 to January 2027, and is scheduled to open in 2027.
