세종시교육청(이하 세종시교육청)이 4일 세종시교육청 4층 대회의실에서 제주4·3평화재단(이사장 김종민)과 ‘지속가능발전교육 및 제주4·3교육 활성화’를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 전했다. 

이번 협약식에는 최교진 세종특별자치시교육감, 김종민 제주4·3평화재단 이사장, 제주4·3 유가족 등 관계자 20여 명이 참석하여 협약의 의미를 더했다.

주요 협약 내용은 지속가능발전교육 및 제주4·3교육 활성화를 위한 양 기관의 인적·물적 자원 활용과 정보 공유 ,교원 연수 추진 및 자료 개발 ,관련 제반 사업에 대한 상호 협력 등이다. 

이를 통해 양 기관은 제주4·3교육과 지속가능발전교육의 중요성에 대한 인식을 공유하고, 관련 사업을 공동으로 추진하기로 했다.

또한, 양 기관은 지역사회의 특성을 반영한 맞춤형 프로그램을 개발하고, 지속가능발전교육의 중요성을 알리기 위한 다양한 홍보 활동을 펼치기로 했다.

최교진 교육감은 “이번 업무협약은 제주4·3교육과 지속가능발전교육의 가치를 공유하는 뜻깊은 자리”라며, “앞으로도 평화와 인권 존중의 가치를 실천하고 세계시민교육과 지속가능발전교육을 활성화하기 위해 세종시와 제주도의 공동 가치를 공유하고, 지속적인 협력과 소통을 이어가겠다”고 전했다. 

이번 협약을 통해 세종시교육청과 제주4·3평화재단은 교육 분야에서의 협력을 강화하고, 지속가능한 미래를 위한 교육의 중요성을 더욱 확산시킬 것으로 기대된다.
