충남 태안군이 어린이와 가족을 위한 복합문화공간 '가족공감센터'의 성공적인 개관을 비롯해 지역사회의 발전을 위한 다양한 노력으로 '2024년 하반기 적극행정 최우수 사례'로 선정됐다고 밝혔다. 

태안군은 주민 복지를 증진하고 지역 화합을 도모하며, 농촌과 도시의 균형발전이라는 목표 아래 적극적인 행정적 실천을 이어가고 있다.  

지난 10월 개관한 '태안군 가족공감센터'는 총 278억 원의 예산이 투입된 대규모 복합문화시설로, 영유아부터 청소년, 부모 세대까지 온 가족이 함께 즐길 수 있는 공간이다. 

연면적 6021㎡ 규모의 이 센터는 어린이수영장, 창작스튜디오, 과학관, 미디어센터 등 '다양한 문화·교육·체험 시설'을 갖추고 있어 지역 주민들에게 양질의 문화적 기회를 제공하고 있다.

특히 부모의 양육 부담을 덜어주는 시설과 프로그램으로 주민들로부터 높은 평가를 받고 있다. 이를 통해 태안군은 **‘아이 키우기 좋은 도시’**라는 새로운 브랜드 이미지를 만들어가고 있다.

태안의 대표적인 가을 축제인 ‘태안국화축제’는 올해 더욱 확장된 행사 공간과 다채로운 프로그램으로 방문객들에게 큰 호응을 얻었다.

축제는 8일간 ‘읍·면의 날’을 운영하며 지역 주민들이 직접 참여하는 자치 프로그램과 공연을 통해 지역 공동체의 결속을 다졌다.  

축제는 단순한 관광 행사를 넘어 주민과 관람객이 함께 즐기는 화합의 장으로 자리 잡았다.

한때 주민 간 갈등으로 어려움을 겪었던 영목항 국가어항 사업은 주민 간 소통과 협력을 통해 해결되었다. 

태안군은 적극적인 간담회와 의견 조율을 통해 582억 원 규모의 사업을 성공적으로 추진하며, 지역 발전의 또 다른 동력을 마련했다.  

기후 변화에 대비하기 위해 태안군은 농촌재해 예방에 주력하고 있다. 

1007억 원의 예산을 확보해 배수개선과 저수지 수질개선 사업을 통해 농업 생산성을 높이고 있다. 

내년에는 태안 반다비 체육관을 비롯한 7개 공공체육시설 확충을 통해 생활 체육 접근성을 한층 더 높일 계획이다.

태안군은 앞으로도 주민들이 실질적으로 체감할 수 있는 행정을 통해 더 살기 좋은 지역사회를 만들어 나갈 계획이다.
