부여군은 지난 27일 부여군 유스호스텔 체육관에서 부여군민 200여 명을 대상으로 제2회 굿뜨래배 부여군민 어울림 보치아대회를 개최했다고 28일 밝혔다. 

보치아는 1984년 하계 패럴림픽부터 정식종목으로 채택됐으며, 선수들이 공을 경기장 안으로 굴리거나 발로 차서 보내는 등 표적구에 가장 가까이 던진 공의 점수를 합산해 승패를 정하는 스포츠다.

특히, 공을 던질 때는 손과 발 뿐만 아니라 비장애인 선수의 도움을 받아 마우스 스틱이나 홈통 등을 이용할 수도 있다는 특징을 가지고 있다.

이번 대회는 장애인의 건강 증진과 여가생활 활성화, 보치아의 저변 확대를 위한 것으로, 3인조 24개 팀이 출전하여 성적별 1위, 2위, 공동 3위(2팀) 총 4개 팀에 대해 수상을 진행했다.

부여군장애인체육회장인 박정현 부여군수는 “부여군은 2024년 충남장애인체전 여자 오픈경기에서 은메달을, 전국 보치아 슈퍼리그 어울림 대회 3인조 1위를 차지하는 등 다수의 보치아대회에서 뛰어난 성과를 거두고 있다”라며, “장애가 있는 군민이 신체적 능력에 구애받지 않고 참여할 수 있는 스포츠 기회를 제공하여 사회적 통합과 자아실현의 기회를 얻을 수 있도록 보치아 종목에 대한 지원을 더욱 강화하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
