충남 서산시와 한서대학교가 지역 농업의 미래 발전을 위해 손을 맞잡았다. 

서산시는 22일 시청에서 이완섭 서산시장, 함기선 한서대학교 총장, 농업인 등 관계자 10여 명이 참석한 가운데 농업 분야 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약은 서산시의 미래 농업 전문성 확보와 혁신을 위해 관내 유일의 고등교육기관인 한서대학교와 협력하여 지역 농업 경쟁력 향상과 지속 가능한 발전 방안을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다. 

서산시와 한서대학교는 올해 8월부터 여러 차례의 간담회를 통해 상호 역량과 연구 조직을 활용한 협력사업의 조율을 진행해 왔으며, 그 결과 10개의 협력사업이 추진될 예정이다. 

각 기관은 협약을 통해 협력사업 추진에 뜻을 모았으며, 이를 위해 각 기관의 연구 조직 및 교육 시설을 공동 활용하기로 했다.

주요 협력사업으로는 외국인 계절근로자 유학생 부모 초청 ,한서대 축제 시 전통주 홍보부스 지원 ,학교급식 농산물 안전성 검사 자문 ,농업인 가공사업장 기술자문단 운영 등이 포함된다.

서산시는 향후 실무협의를 통해 사업을 추가하고 확대할 방침이다.

이완섭 서산시장은 “이번 협약을 통해 우리 시의 농업이 한 단계 도약할 수 있는 계기가 마련될 것”이라며, “한서대학교의 전문성과 혁신 역량을 접목해 농업의 미래 경쟁력을 높이겠다”라고 말했다.

함기선 한서대학교 총장은 “지역 대학으로서 서산시 농업 발전에 기여할 수 있게 되어 기쁘다”라며, “대학의 연구 역량과 인적 자원을 적극 활용해 서산 농업의 혁신을 지원하겠다”라고 밝혔다.

Seosan City, Chungnam Province and Hanseo University have joined hands for the future development of local agriculture.

Seosan City announced on the 22nd that it signed a business agreement in the agricultural sector with the attendance of Seosan Mayor Lee Wan-seop, Hanseo University President Ham Ki-seon, and about 10 farmers.

This agreement was prepared to secure Seosan City’s future agricultural expertise and innovation, and to seek ways to enhance local agricultural competitiveness and sustainable development in cooperation with Hanseo University, the only higher education institution in the city.

Seosan City and Hanseo University have been coordinating cooperative projects utilizing each other’s capabilities and research organizations through several meetings since August of this year, and as a result, 10 cooperative projects are scheduled to be promoted.

Each organization agreed to promote cooperative projects through the agreement, and to this end, they agreed to jointly utilize each organization’s research organizations and educational facilities.

Major collaborative projects include: △ Inviting parents of foreign seasonal workers and international students; △ Supporting traditional liquor promotion booths during Hanseo University festivals; △ Consulting on safety inspections of agricultural products for school meals; △ Operating a technical advisory group for agricultural processing plants. The city plans to add and expand projects through future practical consultations.

Seosan Mayor Lee Wan-seop said, “This agreement will provide an opportunity for our city’s agriculture to take a leap forward,” and “We will enhance the future competitiveness of agriculture by incorporating Hanseo University’s expertise and innovation capabilities.”

Hanseo University President Ham Ki-seon said, “I am glad to be able to contribute to the development of Seosan City’s agriculture as a local university,” and “We will actively utilize the university’s research capabilities and human resources to support innovation in Seosan agriculture.”
