충남 서산시와 태안군이 보령광역상수도 관로 사고로 인한 단수 사태의 후속 조치로 전 수용가의 12월 상하수도 요금 30% 감면을 추진한다고 20일 밝혔다.

먼저 서산시는 ‘서산시 상수도 급수 조례 제39조(요금 등의 감면)’을 근거로 수돗물 공급 과정에 특별한 감면사유가 있다고 판단했다.

감면 대상은 관내 모든 수용가인 10만 5천여 세대이며, 감면은 단수 사태 기간에 대한 요금이 부과되는 올해 12월 고지분에 적용될 예정이다.

감면율은 단수 기간과 단수 해소 후 발생한 탁수 및 수도관 내 공기 배출 등으로 인한 미사용 기간 등을 포괄적으로 고려해 30%(10일분)로 추진될 예정이다.

태안군도 지난 8~11일 보령댐 광역상수도의 시설 노후에 따른 단수사태로 군민 피해가 발생함에 따라 12월 고지분 상수도 요금(사용기간 10월 16일~11월 15일)에 대해 30% 감면 조치를 시행할 예정이라고 밝혔다.

이번 조치는 단수 해소 후 노후배관에서 나오는 탁수와 물탱크 청소, 수도관 내 공기 배출 등으로 군민들이 상수도를 원활히 사용하지 못한 데 따른 것으로, 군은 ‘태안군 상수도 급수 조례’ 제40조에 의거해 요금 감면에 나서게 됐다고 설명했다.
