대전시가 15일 서구 관저동에서 유성구 용계동을 연결하는 도안도로의 양방향 구간을 전면 개통했다고 밝혔다. 

이번에 준공된 2구간은 총 연장 5.7km인 도안대로의 마지막 잔여 구간으로, 서구 관저동 원앙마을 1단지부터 유성구 용계동까지 1.9km를 포함한다. 총사업비는 1,400억 원이 투입되었다.

이 구간은 2017년 7월에 공사가 착공되었으며, 당초 2023년 12월 개통될 예정이었으나 손실 보상 문제, 인근 공동주택 개발에 따른 이주 대책 수립, 그리고 중요 문화재인 미이라 출토 등으로 인해 공사가 지연되었다.

대전시는 시민들의 교통 불편을 최소화하기 위해 지난해 12월에 왕복 4차로를 부분 개통하였고, 이후 왕복 6~10차로 공사를 마무리했다. 

도안도로의 완전 개통으로 인해 서구 관저동과 유성구 용계동 간 이동 시간이 단축될 뿐만 아니라, 진잠네거리와 가수원네거리 등 주변 교차로의 교통 혼잡도 완화될 것으로 기대된다.

도안도로 건설은 서남부 지역의 남북 연결로로서 중추적인 교통 기능을 담당하기 위해 시작되었으며, 서구 관저네거리에서 유성구 유성네거리까지 총 연장 5.7km를 3구간으로 나누어 추진되었다. 

1구간은 2011년에 서구 관저네거리에서 원앙마을 1단지까지 1km 구간이 개통되었고, 3구간은 2012년에 유성구 용계동에서 유성네거리까지 2.8km 구간이 개통된 바 있다. 

이번 도안도로의 완전 개통은 대전시 교통 인프라의 중요한 이정표가 될 것으로 예상된다.
