금산군 사이클팀이 금년도 전국대회 7회 종합우승의 돌풍을 일으키며, 맹활약하고 있어 화제다. 

그간 사이클팀이 우승한 대회는 ▲2024 창녕투어 전국도로사이클대회 ▲제71회 3.1절 기념 강진 전국도로사이클대회 ▲제41회 대통령기 전국사이클대회 ▲2024 음성 전국사이클대회 ▲2024 KBS 양양 전국사이클 선수권 대회 ▲2024 김천시장배 전국도로사이클대회 ▲제105회 전국체전 사이클 부문이다.

특히, 지난 11일부터 17일까지 경남도에서 열린 제105회 전국체육대회에서 군 사이클팀은 금메달 2개, 은메달 3개, 동메달 1개를 합작하며 최고의 기량을 보여줬다.

군은 올해 인천아시안게임, 전국체전 등 국내외 대회에서 우수한 성적을 거두고 있는 장경구 선수를 영입했으며 모든 선수가 승리에 대한 의욕을 갖고 대회에 임했다.

또, 올해 초부터 태국 치앙마이 및 경남 밀양시 등 국내외 전지훈련을 시행하고 대회 일정에 맞춰 해당 지역에서 한 달간 도로 및 트랙 훈련에 전념해 왔다.

금산군 사이클팀은 올해 전국체전까지 대회 참가 일정을 마무리하고 내년에도 좋은 성적을 위한 휴식과 훈련 일정을 가질 예정이다.
