세종시에 첨단산업 기술을 보유한 유망기업 4개 사가 4066억 원을 투자하기로 약속하면서 세종시의 기업유치에 청신호가 들어왔다.

30일, 세종시에 따르면 이날 시청에서 최민호 시장과 차세대 첨단기술을 보유한 SK바이오텍(대표 박용우) ,씨지피머트리얼즈(대표 박춘근) ,케이이알(대표 장세희) ,큐토프(대표 정도영) 등 4개사의 대표가 참석한 가운데 투자협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 

세종시는 이번 협약으로 총 345개의 신규 일자리가 창출될 것으로 전망했다.

앞으로 세종시는 협약 기업 4곳의 성공적인 투자이행을 위한 인허가 등 행정 지원에 나서고 기업들은 성실한 투자이행은 물론 지역민 우선 채용 등 지역사회발전을 위해 협력하게 된다.

협약 기업은 명학산단을 비롯해 전의산단, 벤처밸리산단 11만 3,801㎡ 부지에 연구·제조시설을 신·증축하고 사업을 확장할 계획이다.

협약 기업인 SK바이오텍은 원료의약품을 생산하는 글로벌 제조기업으로, 2017년부터 세종사업장을 운영한 이후 생산능력 확대를 위해 2022년 공장 증설을 완료했다.

올해는 생산능력 확대를 위해 추가 증설에 착수할 계획이며 상업 운전 개시 후에는 총 230명의 신규 고용 창출이 기대된다.

반도체·정보통신기술(IT) 글로벌 정밀화학소재 전문기업 씨지피머트리얼즈, 케이(K)-방산 무기체계 전자파 제품생산 및 전자파 평가시설을 구축하는 전자파 전문기업 케이이알, 동위원소 농축 전문기업 큐토프도 생산능력 확충을 위해 이번 투자를 결정했다. 

최민호 시장은 “대내외적으로 어려운 상황에서도 세종시에 투자를 결정해 주신 기업 대표님들께 감사드린다”며 “최고의 기술을 갖춘 기업이 세종시에서 역량을 발휘할 수 있도록 경영하기 좋은 환경 조성에 노력할 것”이라고 말했다.
