더불어민주당 강준현 의원(세종을)이 12일 세종시당 위원장 출마를 선언했다.

강준현 의원은 이날 배포한 출마 선언문을 통해 "반성과 변화 없는 윤석열 정권의 폭정과 갈수록 심각해지고 있다"며 "민주당이 수권 정당이 되기 위해서는 스스로 혁신하고 변화해 나가야 한다"고 밝혔다.

선언문에서 "국민 대다수가 진실을 요구하는 채상병 사건과 김건희 여사의 뇌물 수수 의혹에 대해서도 , 대통령은 여전히 거짓말과 거부권을 반복하고 있고  여당은 그런 대통령과 가족의 심기를 보좌하는데 앞다투어 충성 경쟁에만 혈안이 돼 있다"며 "민주당이 더욱 강해져야 한다"고 강조했다.

강 의원은 "지난 총선에서 세종시는 반쪽의 승리로 만족해야 하는 아픔을 겪었다 "며 "이제 그 아픔을 거울삼아 세종시를 다시 하나로 통합하고 치유하겠다"고 약속했다.

이어 "실체 없는 미래전략수도가 아닌 행정수도 세종으로 다시 복원해야 한다"면서 "혁신을 통해 민주당의 중심 , 정권교체의 중심이 되는 세종시당을 만들어 나가겠다"고 덧붙였다.

그러면서 "과거의 낡은 리더십을 청산하고 더 나은 세종을 위한 새로운 리더십을 키워 내는 것이 차기 세종시당위원장의 중요한 사명 중 하나"라며 "새 인물이 등용되는 인재 혁신의 길을 개척하겠다"고 강조했다.

민주연구원 분원 설치를 추진해 정책 기능을 강화하겠다는 의지도 내비쳤다.

강 의원은 "민주연구원 분원을 설치해 세종시의 지역적 · 정치적 특성을 반영한 실효적인 정책을 적극 개발하겠다"며 "이를 중앙당 , 연구기관 , 국회와 연계해  구체적인 실현 방안을 완성하고 세종시를  미래의 성장 동력을 제시할 수 있는 지역 정책의 교두보로 만들겠다"고 말했다.

강 의원은 "지난 국회의원 4 년의 임기 동안 마을 국회라는 시민 소통 프로그램을 통해 주말마다 세종시 거리 곳곳에서 시민들을 직접 찾아뵙고 시민들의 목소리를 정책과 의정에 반영해 왔다"면서 "소통 시스템의 확대로 당원의 목소리가 주인이 되는 세종시당을 만들겠다"고 했다.
