대전시교육청이 올해 2회차 대전교육공감원탁회의(이하 원탁회의)에 참여하는 토론자를 공개 모집한다고 밝힌 가운데 원탁회의 개최를 놓고 제기되고 있는 문제점과 이에 대한 개선 방안에 대한  논의가 필요하다는 지적이다.

그동안 대전시교육청은 20회 동안 원탁회의를 진행했고, 매회 진행마다 100명 내외의 토론 참여자들이 참석해 대전교육 발전을 위한 제안과 개선 방향 등 다양한 의견을 개진했다는 게 대전교육청의 설명이다.

원탁회의는 정책소개를 시작으로 그룹별 토론, 결과 공유 등의 순으로 3시간 동안 진행되며 원활한 회의 진행을 위해 각 그룹마다 전문 퍼실리테이터를 1명씩 배치하여 안정적이고 효과적인 토론을 지원한다.

원탁회의에서 도출된 제안은 검토를 거쳐 정책에 반영될 예정이며, 소통과 공감을 통한 교육정책 마련에 기여할 것으로 기대된다는게 원탁회의 개최 이유로 보인다.

하지만 원탁회의에 참여하는 토론자들의 다양성 부족으로 틀과 각본에 짜여진 대로 회의가 진행되고 있는 것 아니냐는 지적이 나오면서 이에 대한 개선이 절실히 요구되고 있다.
