대전시가 양자컴퓨팅 소부장 생태계 육성을 위해 3일 한국표준과학연구원(이하 KRISS) 주관으로 KRISS 대전 본원에서 양자컴퓨팅 소부장(소재‧부품‧장비) 산업 육성을 위한 ‘양자컴퓨팅 소부장 스케일업 밸리 협의체’를 출범하고 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 

이날 행사에는 KRISS를 비롯해 과학기술연결플랫폼사회적협동조합(POSEP), LG전자, Pasqal, Quandela, MKS, Withwave, SDT, 한국과학기술지주, 블루포인트파트너스 등 국내외 양자컴퓨팅 관련 기업‧기관 25곳이 참여했다.

참여 기관들은 대전을 거점으로‘양자컴퓨팅 소부장 스케일업(Scale-up) 밸리’조성을 통해 관련 기술과 인력, 자본을 집적하고 기업 투자부터 기초연구, 개발 및 상용화까지 상호 협력하는 선순환 생태계를 구축하기로 뜻을 모았다.

이번 협약에 따라 밸리 인프라 지원(대전시) ,R&D 및 시험서비스 지원(KRISS‧KAIST‧부산대‧연세대) ,개발 및 사업화(MKS‧ Withwave 등 제조기업) ,시장 참여 등 상호협력(LG전자‧PASCAL‧QUANDELA 등 수요기업) ,국내외 사업화 및 투자(한국과학기술지주‧블루포인트파트너스) 등 역할을 분담키로 했다.

이호성 KRISS 원장은 “양자 패권 전쟁에서 경쟁력을 갖추기 위해서는 ‘퀀텀 엔지니어링’ 기술을 확보하는 것이 필수”라며 “이번 협의체가 산학연의 우수한 연구 역량을 융합해 시너지를 일으키고, 양자 산업의 신성장 동력을 창출할 것으로 기대된다”라고 말했다.

장호종 대전시 경제과학부시장은 “본격적인 양자컴퓨팅 시대 준비를 위해서는 관련 기술의 연구개발뿐만 아니라 이를 뒷받침할 소부장 생태계 구축이 반드시 필요하다”라며 “협의체 출범을 계기로 대덕 퀀텀 플랫폼 구축의 초석이 마련되길 바란다”라고 말했다.
