충남 서산시가 내년 6월 준공을 목표로 동문동 공영주차장 건립을 추진한다.

서산시에 따르면 동문동 303번지 일원 노외주차장을 대규모 공영주차타워로 건립하는‘동문동 공영주차타워 건립사업’을 오는 6월 첫 삽을 뜨는 것을 시작으로 속도감 있게 추진한다고 31일 밝혔다.

동문동 공영주차타워는 2021년부터 편입토지 매입, 건축 인허가, 실시설계를 추진해 왔으며, 시공사 선정을 위해 조달청에 발주를 의뢰해 6월 첫 삽을 뜰 예정이다.

동문동 공영주차타워는 연 면적 4985㎡, 지상 2층(주차 3층) 규모로 친환경 차량용 10면을 포함한 222면의 주차 공간을 조성하며, 기존 노외주차장 대비 137대의 공간을 추가 확보한다.

서산시는 원도심 주차난을 해소하기 위해 2020년 도시재생 공모사업에 응모해 국·도비 총 60억 원을 확보했으며, 토지매입비를 포함해 총 140억 원을 이번 사업에 투입한다.

공사 중 주차 공간이 부족해 시민의 불편이 예상됨에 따라 시는 2025년 6월까지 신속하게 준공을 완료할 방침이다.
