김태흠 충남도지사가 천안 케이(K)-컬처박람회를 국제 박람회로 성장시키겠다는 의지를 밝혔다.

김 지사는 22일 천안 독립기념관에서 열린 케이-컬처박람회 개막식에서 “긴 세월 응축된 천안의 문화가 이제는 젊음을 더해 전세계로 뻗어 나가며 ‘문화의 힘’을 발휘하고 있다”며 “저는 케이-컬처박람회가 한류를 선도하는 축제가 될 것이라고 굳게 믿고 있다”고 말했다.

이어 “프랑스 파리와 미국 샌프란시스코가 세계박람회를 통해 발전을 거듭했던 것처럼 천안 역시 그렇게 될 것으로 생각한다”며 “천안 케이-컬처박람회를 ‘세계박람회’로 성장시키기 위해 전폭적인 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 강조했다.

올해 박람회는 ‘글로벌 케이(K)-컬처, 세계를 물들이다’라는 주제로 오는 26일까지 독립기념관 일원에서 열린다.

이번 박람회에서는 케이-문화의 무한한 가치 ,케이-역사와 케이-컬처 ,케이-컬처의 긍정적 기능 3가지 핵심 메시지를 중심으로 한국 문화의 영향력, 지속 가능성과 다면적인 특성을 국내외 관람객에게 선보인다.

충남도와 천안시는 2027년 케이(K)-컬처박람회를 세계박람회로 개최해 대한민국을 넘어 전 세계인의 축제가 될 수 있도록 한다는 방침이다.
