김기웅 서천군수가 공공형 계절근로자 현장 격려를 실시했다.

김 군수는 지난달 30일 입국해 마산면 블루베리 농가에 배치된 공공형 외국인 계절근로자들을 격려하고 애로사항을 청취하고자 작업 현장을 방문했다고 16일 밝혔다.

앞서 서천군은 이번 외국인 계절근로자 사업으로 공공형 계절근로자 30명과 결혼이민자 가족·4촌 이내의 친척 초청 계절근로자 13명을 유치해 운영하고 있다.

특히, 공공형 계절근로자는 지난해 농림축산식품부에서 주관한 ‘공공형 농촌인력중개센터 사업’에 공모 선정된 사업으로, 올 상반기에 군에서 센터로 지정한 동서천농협이 국비를 지원받아 외국인 계절근로자를 직고용하고 있다.

아울러, 결혼이민자 가족·4촌 이내의 친척 초청을 통해 입국한 근로자를 대상으로 해당 농가가 직접 숙식을 제공하는 방식과는 달리, 공공형 농촌인력중개센터는 인력이 필요한 농가에 하루 단위로 인력을 공급하면서 소규모 영세 농가 위주로부터 큰 호응을 얻고 있다.
