충남 태안군이 태안읍 중앙로 광장에서 매주토요일 상설공연을 개최한다.

태안군은 태안읍 중앙로 광장의 활용도를 높이고 전통시장을 이용하는 군민 및 관광객들에게 색다른 즐거움을 선사하기 위해 오는 18일부터 매주 토요일 상설 공연을 개최한다고 밝혔다.

지난 2022년 3월 준공된 중앙로 광장(태안읍 중앙로 68)은 2436㎡ 면적으로 약 1천여 명의 인원을 수용할 수 있으며, 평소에도 상설공연을 비롯해 음악회와 각종 행사 등이 수시 개최돼 군민들의 새로운 문화공간으로 인기를 얻고 있는 곳이다.

이번 공연은 오는 10월까지 혹서기(7월 20일~8월 10일)를 제외하고 매주 토요일 오후 2시부터 진행되며, 대중음악·국악·클래식 등 모든 음악 장르를 아우르는 다채로운 공연이 펼쳐진다. 매회 공연시간은 약 한 시간 가량으로, 팀당 30분씩 두 팀이 무대를 선보일 예정이다.

태안군은 지난 3월 예술인 및 단체를 대상으로 공연 참여 신청을 받은 후 4월 공개 오디션을 거쳐 참가자 및 단체를 최종 확정지었다. 

지역 내 재능있는 예술인들에게 공연 참여의 기회를 제공하고 군민들에게는 주말 여가의 즐거움을 선사한다는 점에서 큰 호응을 얻을 것으로 기대된다.

한편 중앙로 광장 상설 공연은 2022년부터 이어지고 있으며, 지난해에도 20회에 걸쳐 26개팀이 다양한 장르의 공연을 선보였다. 지난해 총 관객 수는 1754명에 달한다.
