대전 대흥새마을금고 진영한 이사장이  3일 열린 제52회 어버이의날 기념식에서 대통령 표창을 받았다.

이날 윤석열 대통령으로부터 대통령표창을 받은 진영한 이사장은 지난 40년 가까이 노모를 극진히 모시는 등 정성껏 부양한 점이 인정돼 표창을 받았다.

특히 진영한 이사장은 3대가 함께 살면서 고령의 어머니를 불편없이 40년간 극진한 효심으로 봉양하는 효자로, 참된 효를 생활근본으로 화목한 가정을 이루어 왔을 뿐 아니라 경로당 및 지역 어르신들을 위한 의료봉사활동과 명절 이웃돕기 후원 등 봉사활동 전개로 주변 어르신들을 공경하는 마음이 타의 모범이 됐다는 평가를 받았다.

이날 대통령 표창을 받은 진영한 이사장은 <브레이크뉴스>와의 통화에서 "자식된 도리로서 마땅히 해야할 일을 했을 뿐인에 이렇게 분에 넘치는 대통령표창을 받게돼 영광으로 생각한다"고 소감을 전했다.

진영한 이사장은 이어"앞으로도 어머님의 남은 여생 동안 지금까지 해오던것 이상으로 편히 모실 것"이라고 말하고 "지역 어르신들과 지역사회를 위한 봉사활동도 게을리 하지 않고, 대통령표창에 누가되지 않도록 무거운 책임감을 가지고 살아가겠다"고 말했다.
