충남 서산시가 5월 8일 대산항을 모항으로 출발하는 충청권 최초 국제 크루즈선 ‘코스타세레나호’의 성공적인 운항을 위해 9일 시청에서 이완섭 서산시장의 주재로 ‘2024 서산 모항 국제 크루즈선 운항 활성화 TF 3차 회의’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 회의는 시와 충청남도, 대산지방해양수산청, 천안세관 대산지원센터, 평택검역소 대산지소, 대전 출입국외국인사무소 서산출장소, 농림축산검역본부 평택사무소, 국립수산물품질관리원 평택지원, 서산경찰서, 서산소방서, 태안해양경찰서 등 유관기관과 롯데관광, 동방선박, 대산항 도선사회, 예선협동조합 대산지부 등 기업, 단체 관계자가 참석한 가운데 진행됐다. 

이날 회의에서 참석자들은 대산항 국제여객터미널 첫 개장과 크루즈선을 통한 입출국 관광객을 대비한 기관별 준비 상황을 최종적으로 점검했다.

롯데관광개발은 5월 8일 국제 크루즈선이 대산항 국제여객터미널에 입항해 내외국인 800여 명이 입국하고 2600여 명이 출국해 최소 3천 400여 명이 서산시를 찾을 것으로 예상했다.

또한 기관별로 국제여객터미널 내 세관 검사, 출입국 관리, 검역 등 각종 수속 운영계획을 공유하고 미흡한 부분은 대책을 마련해 신속한 입출국 수속에 총력을 기울이기로 뜻을 모았다.

서산시는 크루즈 입출국 관광객에 대한 출입국 수속이 신속하게 이뤄질 수 있도록 출국장 보안검색 장비와 외부 수화물 전용 검색 장비를 추가로 임차해 설치할 방침이다.

대산지방해양수산청도 그동안 사용되지 않았던 대산항 국제여객터미널의 정상적인 개장을 위해 행정력을 집중하고 있다.
