지난해 대덕구의 대표축제로 첫선을 보이며 독창적인 콘셉트·다채로운 프로그램, 그리고 63만 명의 관람객 유치 등 기대 이상의 성과를 거둔 ‘대덕물빛축제’가 오는 29일부터 5월 6일까지 총 39일간 대청공원 일원에서 개최된다고 대전 대덕구가 3일 밝혔다.

올해로 두 번째를 맞이한 ‘2024 대덕물빛축제’는 꿈과 희망의 가치를 담은 ‘고래’를 기본 배경으로 설정하고 ‘대청호, 고래날다’를 주제로 확정했다.

대덕구는 올해 축제를 대비해 축제의 중심이 된 고래 설화의 배경지인 이현동 여수바위 인근을 방문객들이 쉽게 방문할 수 있도록 진입로 등을 정비했다.

2024 대덕물빛축제는 3월 29일 빛을 활용한 ‘루미페스타(luminarie festa)’ 점등식을 통해 대단원의 막을 연다. 

축제의 본격적인 개막은 4월 13일 600여 대의 환상적인 드론쇼와 화려한 불꽃쇼를 통해 관람객들의 시선을 모을 예정이다.

4월 13~14일 양일간 개최되는 ‘대청호대덕뮤직페스티벌’은 대한민국의 대표적인 뮤직페스티벌로 대청호의 아름다운 자연에서 즐기는 중부권 최대의 힐링 음악 축제이다. 

이번 뮤직페스티벌에는 멜로망스, 폴킴, 소란, 루시, 너드커넥션 등 국가대표급 밴드들이 대거 참여해 축제를 더욱 뜨겁게 만들 것으로 기대된다.

아울러 뮤직페스티벌 기간 다양한 프로그램과 물빛 플리마켓(flea market)을 운영하며, 키즈존(Kids Zone)을 운영해 가족 단위 방문객을 위한 어린이 놀이터 ,고래모래놀이터 ,교통안전체험 등 체험을 진행한다.

특히, 이번 축제에는 KBS 전국노래자랑 대덕구 편이 30일 대청공원 동편광장에서 펼쳐진다. 

2024 대덕물빛축제는 축제 기간 평일과 주말 구분 없이 소규모 무대를 중심으로 다양한 프로그램과 공연이 개최될 예정이다. 사전에 주민 참여 공모를 통해 선정된 문화예술인들의 다채로운 공연은 풍성한 축제의 즐거움과 함께 지역 문화예술의 확산에도 기여할 전망이다.

특히, 5월 5일 어린이날은 ‘어린이 페스티벌’이 개최된다. 어린이들과 가족 단위의 특성에 맞춘 다양한 무대공연과 기후 위기 대응을 위한 ‘탄소중립 과학 캠프’가 마련돼 있다.

축제 대단원의 막을 내리는 5월 6일은 다가올 ‘어버이날’을 맞아 어르신들에게 기쁨과 행복이 될 맞춤형 효(孝)콘서트와 폐막식을 끝으로 39일간의 축제 여정을 마무리하게 된다.
