한적한 오솔길... 논산 ‘연산문화 창고’가 시골의 작은 문화공간이지만 단단하고 잔잔한 문화성지로 떠오르고 있다.
요즘 이곳에서 20세기 최고의 색채화가로 피카소와 더불어 한 시대를 풍미했던 앙리마티즈 전시회가 열리고 있다. 작은 공간의 전시공간에 레플리카 전으로 전시되는데 마티즈의 일생을 시대별로 정리되어 작품의 감동을 느끼기에는 충분하다.
지난달에는 이중섭 전을 하였고 지속적으로 전시회를 기획하고 있다고 한다. 비록 레플리카전이지만 시골에서의 문화적 갈증을 채우기에는 너무나 훌륭한 전시회이다.
어떻게 시골의 작은 마을에 전시회를 열 상상을 하였을까? 그야말로 시골문화의 요소들을 해독해 의미를 찾아내고 동선을 상상하여 창조했을 것이다. 시골의 유휴공간을 문화공간으로 예쁘게 채색해 나가는. 논산시와 연산면 공무원에게 진심으로 찬사를 보낸다.
비록 지금은 많은 사람들의 발길이 닿지 않겠지만 좀 더 알려지면 더 많은 사람들이 즐겨 찾을 것이고, 문화혜택을 받기 어려운 시골의 학생 몇 명이 관람한다면 도시학생의 수백 명보다 의미 있는 관람이 될 것이다.
잔잔한 시간 흐름 속에 논산만의 문화가 창조되고 변화 되어가고 있다. 세금은 이렇게 쓰일 때 가치가 있다고 생각한다.
전시회장을 가는 길은 도시와는 전혀 다른 낭만과 자연이 주는 아름다움을 덤으로 느낄 수 있다.
계룡산 천황봉에서 남쪽으로 향적산을 거쳐 연산의 황산벌 주산 함지봉에서 기를 갈무리하는데
백제의 황산성을 품은 산줄기 아래로 연산천이 멀리 금강을 바라보며 흐른다. 그 물줄기와 길이 연산 황산벌을 가로지른다.
굽이쳐 흐르는 실개천은 중간 중간 하천 보에 막혀 흐름이 끊기다 다시 흐르고 연산면소재지에 이르는 곳에 제법 투명하고 맑고 깊은 물이 흘러 늘 철새들이 옹기종기 모여 물질을 하고 있다
백로는 낮고 느리게 산허리와 빈 들녘을 날개 짓을 하다 물가에 지친 몸을 세운다. 청동 오리들도 물의 흐름에 맞추어 고요히 유영을 하고 있는데 인적이 닿지 않아 모두가 여유롭다.
마른 갈대는 바람이 없어도 서걱거리는 환청이 들려온다. 연산 천에서 연산면사무소쪽으로 꺾어 돌면 연산의 자랑 문화 창고가 있다.
스마트 팜과 문화 나눔을 할 수 있는 공간과 제법 예술적 작품으로 공간구성을 하여 아기자기한 쉼터가 있고 이용객을 위한 저렴한 카페와 전시장이 옛 농사창고를 리모델링하거나 신축하여 공간을 산수화 여백처럼 덤덤하거나 세련되게 꾸며 놓았다.
문화 창고와 이웃하여 옛 모습을 간직한 정겨운 연산역을 중심으로 예쁜 이야기들이 이어지며 만들어 지고 있다.
연산역에는 아이들이 체험할 수 있는 알록달록한 열차체험관이 있고 아이들의 걸음마다 환한 시선이 닿을 수 있는 볼거리들이 아기자기하게 놓여있다.
