충남 서산시가 지난 22일 숭실대학교에서 열린 제1회 지방행정혁신대상 시상식에서 충청권 지자체 가운데 유일하게 우수상을 받았다고 밝혔다.

서산시에 따르면 한국지방자치학회가 주관하는 지방행정혁신대상은 지방자치 발전에 탁월한 성과를 보여준 지방자치단체에 수여하는 상으로 심사는 전문가들로 구성된 특별심사위원회가 시의성 및 효과성 ,혁신성 및 창의성 ,지속가능성 및 수용성 ,사회경제적 효율성 등을 평가해 서산시와 전국 15개 지자체를 선정했다.

서산시는 민선8기 제1호 공약으로 ‘시민만족 원스톱 민원서비스 제공’을 내걸고 복합민원 상담 사전예약제 등을 운영해 2022년 7월 14%에 불과하던 민원처리 기간 단축률을 지난해 말 약 3배 이상 대폭 증가한 51%까지 끌어올리는 등 탁월한 혁신 성과를 거두었다.

이와 더불어 시정연구 동아리, 창의지식 공유방, 민원처리 마일리지 우수 공무원 선발, 5S5품왕 선발 등 행정혁신을 위해 다양한 시책을 지속 추진해 좋은 평가를 받았다.

이완섭 서산시장은 “시민 만족 행정서비스 향상을 위한 노력을 인정받게 돼 의미가 크다고 생각한다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 창의적 아이디어를 수용해 시민들이 체감하는 혁신행정을 적극 펼쳐 나가겠다”고 수상 소감을 밝혔다.
