금산군의회의 대전‧금산 행정구역 변경(통합) 공식 요청에 대전시의회가 화답하며 향후 시‧군민의 여론 청취와 특별법 마련에 함께 힘을 모으기로 논의했다. 

김기윤 금산군의회 의장을 비롯한 군의원 7명이 29일 대전시의회를 방문했다. 

이들은 이날 대전시의회의 이상래 의장, 김진오 부의장, 조원휘 부의장, 송활섭 운영위원장을 예방, 대전‧금산 통합 문제를 논의했다.

이 자리에서 김기윤 금산군의회 의장은 “군의원 모두가 대전‧금산 통합에 적극 찬성하고 있다”며, “지난 311회 임시회에서 대전‧금산 통합을 골자로 하는 금산군 행정구역 변경 건의안이 만장일치로 채택된 것은 그에 대한 방증”이라고 말했다. 김 의장은 이와 함께 특별법 마련에 함께 힘쓰자고 제안했다.

이상래 대전시의회 의장은 “금산군의회의 건의안에 대전시의회도 적극 화답할 것”이라며 “양 지방자치단체가 경제 생활권을 같이 하는 만큼 메가시티 조성의 일환으로 적극적인 여론 조성에 뜻을 함께 할 것”이라고 말했다.

한편, 대전시장과 충남도지사 등 해당 지방자치단체장의 의중도 중요한 만큼 여론 청취 외에 절차적인 문제에 대해 좀 더 구체적인 논의를 지속해 나가기로 했다.
