충남 논산시가 대한민국에서는 처음으로 전력지원체계 중심‘논산 국방국가산업단지’가 정부로부터 26일 최종 승인을 받는다고 25일 밝혔다.

이번에 승인된 국방국가산업단지는 연무읍·동산리 일원에 870177㎡(약 26만 평)의   규모로 국방 관련 첨단 ICT 산업과 일반산업이 조화된 국내 최고 수준의 전력지원체계(비무기) 중심 대한민국 최초 국방국가산업단지로 조성된다.

논산국방국가산업단지는 한국토지주택공사(LH)가 사업시행자로 총사업비 1917억 원(국비 포함)을 투입하여 보상, 실시설계 준비 작업을 거쳐 2025년 착공하여 2027년부터 토지공급 및 분양이 시작될 전망이다.

논산시는 산업단지계획의 최종 승인·고시로 지난 2018년 8월 국가산단 후보지로 선정된 이후 5년여 만에 모든 행정절차가 완료하고, 최종 승인을 획득하는 쾌거를 이뤘다.
