갑진년(甲辰年) 새해를 맞아 설동호 대전시교육감이 16일 오전 시교육청 브리핑룸에서“2024년도 대전교육 주요정책 설명을 위한 기자회견”을 개최했다. 

기자회견에서 설동호 교육감은“2024년은 미래교육을 선도하기 위하여 그동안 체계적으로 구축해 온 교육체제 기반 위에서 학생들이 자신의 꿈을 향해 미래를 활짝 열어가는 창의융합인재로 성장할 수 있도록, 다양하고 내실있는 교육정책 추진을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”며 밝혔다.

설 교육감은 지난해 주요 성과로 디지털 교육환경 설계를 단계적으로 추진하여 일반 및 특별교실에 무선망을 설치하였고, 스마트칠판과 스마트단말기 보급을 완료하여 초등학교 3학년 이상의 학생들이 1인 1단말기로 디지털 교육을 제공하는 등 미래역량을 키우기 위한 디지털교육 기반 조성을 구축했고, 초등 대전늘봄학교 운영을 통해 초등 돌봄교실 대기인원을 전원 해소하였고, 관내 5개 학교가 교육부 늘봄학교 우수사례로 선정됨에 따라 대전형 늘봄학교 운영 모델을 전국으로 확산시키는 선도적 역할을 수행하는 등 교육과 돌봄에 대한 다각적 지원으로 공교육 책임 강화을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이어 교육가족 모두가 함께 노력한 대전교육의 성과로 다양하고 내실있는 정책 추진으로 전국과학전람회 대통령상, 대한민국 학생창의력 챔피언대회 대상, 전국학생과학발명품경진대회 2년 연속 최우수상 등 다수 대회에서 우수한 성적을 거두었으며, 교원 또한 전국교육자료전 참가팀 전원 1등급 수상, 수업혁신사례연구대회 전국 최다 입상이라는 우수한 성과를 나타냈다고 평가했다.

설 교육감은 지난해 주요성과 발표에 이어 2024년도 대전교육 중점 추진정책으로 미래역량을 키우는 창의융합교육 실현을 위해 체험과 활동중심 수업으로 창의성 함양, 미래역량을 키워가는 지속가능한 미래교육환경 조성에 역량을 집중한다는 계획이다.

이어 배움과 성장이 중심이 되는 혁신교육을 위해 함께 배우고 같이 성장하는 교실수업 혁신, 확장된 배움터에서 키워가는 미래역량 강화를 위해 창의성과 탐구역량을 키우는 융합교육을 실천하고, 인터넷 화상을 통해 정기적으로 수업을 교류하는 해외 온라인 수업교류를 48개 초․중․고등학교로 확대 운영 한다고 밝혔다.

설 교육감은 또 학생 한 명 한 명을 위한 책임교육·맞춤교육 강화 실현을 위한 방안으로 빈틈없는 지도, 체계적인 관리로 더 견고해지는 기초학력보장, 폭 넓은 꿈 실현의 기회 제공, 초등 대전늘봄학교 확대 운영을 설명하고, 특히 2024년 초등 대전늘봄학교는 학교의 특성과 자율적 선택을 반영하여 시범학교 29교와 방과후프로그램 운영 중점교 41교를 추가하여 총 70교를 운영한다고 설명했다.
