대전시가 오는 11일 옛 충남도청사 대회의실에서 새롭게 수립한 도시재생전략계획(안)에 대해 일반시민과 전문가에게 설명하고 의견을 수렴하는‘2035 대전 도시재생전략계획 수립을 위한 주민공청회’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

도시재생전략계획은 도시재생 분야 최상위 법정계획으로 10년마다 수립한다. 이번 계획은 2015년에 이어 두 번째 계획으로 대전시는 전국 지자체 중 가장 빠른 속도다.

계획의 주요 내용은 정부의 도시재생정책과 지역 여건의 변화에 맞춰 대전시의 도시재생 기본방향을 설정하고 38곳의 도시재생 활성화 지역 지정이다. 

도시재생 활성화 지역은 인구, 산업체, 노후 건축물 등 감소율이 높은 쇠퇴 지역 가운데 문화․역사 등 지역자원과 역량을 종합적으로 분석하여 도시재생 실현 가능성이 높은 지역을 선정했다. 

특히 도시재생 개념을 보존 방식뿐만이 아니라 정비 방식까지 포함하여 폭넓게 인식하여 정비가 필요한 지역은 공공의 적극적인 참여를 통해 거점지역으로 변화시켜 나갈 계획이다. 

박필우 대전시 도시주택국장은 “2035 도시재생전략계획은 대전시가 전국에서 제일 먼저 수립하는 것으로, 향후 10년의 대전시 도시재생사업의 밑그림을 그려 새로운 도시재생의 비전인 ‘행복이 실현된 가치 도시 대전’을 완성하도록 노력할 것”이라고 말했다.
