제20대 충남대학교 총장임용후보자로 김정겸 교수(1963년생, 교육학과)가 1순위 임용후보자로 선출됐다고 충남대가 밝혔다.

충남대학교총장임용추천위원회(위원장 신현진)가 23일, 온·오프라인으로 제20대 충남대학교총장임용후보자 선거를 실시한 결과 사범대학 교육학과 김정겸 교수가 1순위 총장임용후보자로 선출됐다.

1차 투표에서 김정겸 후보는 34.8%(총 환산득표수-280.7표)를 얻어, 31.3%(총 환산득표수-252.8표)를 얻은 임현섭 후보와 함께 결선투표(2차)에 진출했다.

결선투표(2차)에서는 김정겸 후보가 과반을 넘는 52.88%(총 환산득표수-400.77670표)를 얻어 1순위 총장임용후보자에 선정됐다. 임현섭 후보는 47.12%(총 환산득표수-357.14570표)를 얻었다.

김정겸 교수(1963년생)는 충남대 교육학과를 졸업해 충남대 교육학 석사·박사 학위를 받았다.

지난 2001년부터 충남대 교수로 재직해 왔으며 교무처장, 기초교양교육원장, 교육연구소장, AI융합교육연구소장, 학부교육선도대학육성사업단장, 대통령직속 국민 통합위원회 위원, 교육부 교육정책자문위원회 위원 등으로 활동해 왔다.
