대전시교육청이 지난 11월 18일 전국이중언어말하기 대회에 참가한 초등부 2명이 모두 교육부장관상을 수상했다고 전했다.

참가자 가운데 중등부 1명은 국가평생교육진흥원 원장상을 수상했다.

전국이중언어말하기대회는 교육부와 ㈜LG가 주최하고 중앙다문화교육센터와 한국외국어대학교가 주관하는 행사로 서울 LG사이언스파크에서 진행되었다.

전국 시·도교육청 예선 및 본선 대회를 거친 대표 학생 초등부 29명과 중등부 25명이 한국어 및 15개의 언어로 대회에 참가하였다.

이번 대회 초등부는 자유주제를 모국어 및 한국어로 각각 3분씩 발표하고, 중등부는 ‘나의 진로’를 주제로 모국어와 한국어로 각각 2분씩 발표와 2분간 질의응답하는 형식으로 진행되었다.

대전시교육청 대표로 참여한 대전봉명초등학교 송건우 학생은 일본어로 ‘음식의 힘: 다문화커뮤니케이션’, 대전상대초등학교 지희준 학생은 중국어로 ‘책 박사의 꿈 놀이터:3개의 열쇠’, 대전문지중학교 김태연 학생은 중국어로 ‘아픈 아이들이 있는 곳이라면 어디든’을 주제로 열띤 경연을 펼쳤다.

올해로 11번째를 맞이하는 전국이중언어말하기대회는 다문화학생의 한국어와 모국어의 이중언어 학습을 장려하고 강점 개발의 기회를 제공하여 글로벌 인재 역량을 향상하는데 기여하였으며, 참가 학생 모두는 ‘다문화언어학교 언어과정’에 참가할 수 있는 기회가 주어진다.

Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education wins the Minister of Education Award at the National Bilingual Speech Contest

The Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education reported that on November 18, two elementary school students who participated in the National Bilingual Speech Contest both won the Minister of Education Award.

Among the participants, one middle school student received the National Lifelong Education Promotion Agency Director's Award.

The National Bilingual Speech Contest was hosted by the Ministry of Education and LG Co., Ltd. and hosted by the Central Multicultural Education Center and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and was held at LG Science Park in Seoul.

Representative 29 elementary school students and 25 middle school students who had passed the preliminary and final competitions of metropolitan and provincial offices of education across the country participated in the competition in Korean and 15 other languages.

In this competition, the elementary school division presented a free topic for 3 minutes each in their native language and Korean, and the middle school division presented a 2-minute presentation in their native language and Korean on the topic of ‘My Career’ and had a 2-minute Q&A session.

Song Geon-woo from Daejeon Bongmyeong Elementary School, who participated as a representative of the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education, taught 'The Power of Food: Multicultural Communication' in Japanese, Ji Hee-jun from Daejeon Sangdae Elementary School taught 'Doctor Book's Dream Playground: 3 Keys' in Chinese, and Tae-yeon Kim from Daejeon Munji Middle School taught 'The Power of Food: Multicultural Communication' in Chinese. A heated contest was held under the theme, ‘Wherever there are sick children.’

The National Bilingual Speech Contest, which celebrates its 11th anniversary this year, has contributed to improving the capabilities of global talent by encouraging multicultural students' bilingual learning of Korean and their native language and providing opportunities to develop their strengths. All participating students are members of the 'Multicultural Language School'. You will be given the opportunity to participate in a language course.
