충남 서산시가 서산의 관문 중 하나인 해미나들목(IC)과 대표 관광지인 해미읍성에 지역 정체성을 살린 경관을 조성한다는 계획이다.

이를 위해 서산시는 충남도에서 주관하는 2024년 공공디자인 공모사업에 선정돼 도비 2억 1천만 원을 확보했다고 밝혔다.

이번 공모 신청은 지난해 11월부터 추진하고 있는 서산시 IC(서산, 해미) 주변 경관개선 기본계획수립 용역과 연계해 추진했고, 해미나들목(IC)과 해미읍성 주변에 해미면 지역의 역사, 문화의 특성을 반영한 경관을 조성하기 위해 ‘해미 안올수가 읍성! 해미 잊을수가 읍성!’이란 사업명으로 공모를 신청했다.

서산시는 이번 공모에 선정됨에 따라 총사업비 7억 원을 투입해 해미나들목(IC) 진출로 도시 정체성 개선 ,해미면 진입부 회전교차로 상징공간 개선 ,해미읍성 야간경관 랜드마크 연출(미디어 파사드 등) 등을 추진한다.

서산시는 내년 초 설계 등 관련 절차를 완료하고 내년 말까지 사업을 완료할 예정이라고 밝혔다.
