세종시의회가 추석 연휴를 하루 앞둔 27일 지역 내 전통시장을 찾아 청렴 캠페인을 펼치고 지역 전통시장 활성화를 위한 소비 진작 활동에 나섰다. 

이날 세종시의회 이순열 의장과 양 부의장을 비롯해 의원 11명, 직원 30여 명은 세종전통시장과 금남대평시장을 찾았다. 

세종시의회 의원 및 사무처 직원들은 세종전통시장과 금남대평시장 곳곳을 둘러보며 시장 상인들과 덕담을 나누며, 지역 전통시장 활성화 유도 차원에서 제사용품 등을 구입했다. 

특히 세종시의원들은 시장 상인들의 의견과 애로사항 등을 경청하면서 지역 전통시장의 발전을 위해 필요한 사항들을 적극 지원하겠다는 의사를 전달했다. 

전통시장을 방문한 세종시의회 이순열 의장은 “이번 추석 맞이 전통시장 방문은 시민들과 함께하는 청렴 캠페인을 병행해서 더욱 뜻깊었다”며 “올 추석에도 우리 전통시장을 많이 찾아주시길 바란다”고 당부했다.

On the 27th, a day before the Chuseok holiday, the Sejong City Council launched an integrity campaign at Sejong Traditional Market in Jochiwon-eup and Geumnam Daepyeong Market and began activities to stimulate consumption to revitalize local traditional markets.

On this day, Sejong City Council Chairman Lee Sun-yeol and Yang Vice-Chairman, 11 council members, and about 30 employees visited Sejong Traditional Market and Geumnam Daepyeong Market.

Sejong City Council members and secretariat staff toured Sejong Traditional Market and Geumnam Daepyeong Market, exchanged good words with market merchants, and purchased ancestral rite supplies to encourage revitalization of the local traditional market.

In particular, Sejong City Council members expressed their intention to actively support matters necessary for the development of the local traditional market while listening to the opinions and difficulties of market merchants.

Chairman Lee Soon-yeol of Sejong City Council, who visited the traditional market, said, “This Chuseok visit to the traditional market was even more meaningful because it was accompanied by an integrity campaign with citizens.” He added, “I hope that many people will visit our traditional market this Chuseok as well.”
