대전시가 교차로에서의 급감속과 꼬리물기 운전 예방을 위해 오는 26일부터 한밭대로, 계룡로, 북유성대로, 천변도시고속화도로에 있는 55개 교차로에 관한 교통신호 정보를 시민에게 제공한다고 밝혔다. 

시민들에게 교통신호 정보를 제공하게 되는 55개 교차로는 한밭대로(34개소), 계룡로(10개소), 북유성대로(8개소), 천변도시고속화도로(3개소) 등이다.

대전시가 시민들에게 제공하는 신호정보 제공 서비스는 전방 교차로의 신호가 몇 초 후에 바뀌는지를 운전자에게 실시간으로 알려주는 서비스이다.

대전시는 해당 서비스의 구현을 위해 현장장비를 2way 방식(시←신호제어기→도로교통공단)으로 고도화하고, 지난 15일 도로교통공단 등 13개 기관과 ‘미래 융복합 교통인프라 구축 및 서비스 추진을 위한 업무협약’을 체결했다. 

대전시는 카카오내비를 통해 서비스를 우선 개시하고, 2024년에는 아이나비, 티 모빌리티 등 다양한 경로로 제공할 예정이고, 제공 범위도 계룡로(연장), 유등로, 계백로의 75개 교차로로 넓혀갈 계획이다. 

대전시는 이번 서비스가 향후 자율주행을 위한 똑똑한 도로환경 인프라를 구축하는 데도 일조할 것으로 평가했다.
