‘전통시장 장 보는 날’ 행사를 이어가고 있는 충남 논산시가 추석을 2주 앞둔 15일을 ‘9월 전통시장 장 보는 날’로 지정하고 공직사회가 함께하는 성수품 소비 활성화에 나섰다.

이날 백성현 논산시장과 논산시청 직원들은 화지중앙시장, 강경대흥시장, 연무안심시장 등 지역 곳곳의 재래시장을 찾아 추석 맞이 장보기를 실시했다.

전통시장을 찾은 400여 명의 공직자들은 시장 물건들을 두루 둘러보며 각자의 장바구니를 채웠다. 

또한 논산경찰서, 소방서, 세무서, 육군항공학교의 관계자들과 지역농협 조합원, 시민단체 회원들 역시 이날 장보기 행사에 동참해 지역사회 구성원이 함께 만드는 전통시장 활성화 분위기에 힘을 보탰다.

전통시장을 찾은 백성현 논산시장은 “온 가족이 모이는 추석 명절이 다가오고 있다. 상인 여러분들이 늘 한가위같이 정 넘치는 하루하루를 보내실 수 있도록 전통시장에 활력을 불어넣겠다”고 말했다.
