대전교사들 "진상 규명해 책임 엄중히 물을 것"

교원단체와 교사, 시민 등 1000여명 참석...설동호 교육감에 야유

악성 민원에 시달리다 극단적 선택을 한 동료 교사 죽음에 화난 대전 교사들이 설동호 대전시교육감을 거세게 몰아 세웠다.

15일 오후 대전교육청 옆 대로에서 열린 대전 초등교사의 추모제에서 설동호 대전교육감이 추모사를 낭독하자 일부 교사들이 분노에 찬 야유를 보냈다.

비가 내리는 가운데 진행된 이날 추모제에서 대전교사노조 관계자의 2,3차례 자제 요청에도 야유가 이어지며 참석자 대부분은 설 교육감이 추모사를 읽는 4분여 동안 항의의 뜻으로 등을 돌렸다.

추모제에 참석한 A 교사는 "대전교육청이 교육부의 지침대로 공교육 멈춤의 날에 참석하면 징계를 하겠다고 엄포를 놓았고 고인이 서이초 교사 49재에 참석한 뒤 희망이 없다며 세상을 달리 했는데 어찌 화가 나지 않겠냐"고 울분을 토했다.

B 교사는 "이제와서 교육감이 공교육 멈춤의 날에 혼선을 줬다고 사과를 하는데 그런 사람에게 더 이상 대전교육을 맡길 수 없다"고 토로했다.

빗속에 열린 추모제에는 지역 교원단체와 교사, 시민 등 1000여명이 참석했다.

유족과 동료 교사들의 추모사가 이어지자 참가자들은 흐느끼기 시작했다.

숨진 교사의 동생은 "누나와 우리 가족이 넘어진 길을 되돌아봐야 한다"며 "혹여나 같은 길을 걷게 될 분들이 넘어지지 않도록 해야만 한다"고 교권보호 제도화를 강조했다.

고인의 동료였던 한 교사는 "왜 학교교권보호위원회는 열어주지 않고 고소 학부모의 학폭위는 열어준 것이냐"며 "고인을 지켜주지 못해 미안하다"고 성토했다.

대전교사노조와 대전교원단체총연합회 등 5개 교원단체 회원들은 추도사를 통해 "우리는 무너지는 교권 속에서도 관리자나 교육당국으로부터 별다른 도움을 받지 못했다"며 "진상을 규명해 죽음에 대한 책임을 엄중히 묻겠다"고 강조했다.
