2024년도 정부예산안 심사를 앞두고 더불어민주당이‘2023년 더불어민주당 충청권 예산정책협의회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다. 

15일 열린 충청권 예산정책협의회는 김민석 정책위의장, 서삼석 국회 예산결산특별위원장, 강훈식 국회 예산결산특별위원회 간사, 양승조 참좋은지방정부위원장과 세종시 지역구 홍성국(세종갑), 강준현(세종을) 국회의원이 참석했다. 

세종시는 개청 이후 지방세 감소로 1,000억원 규모 감액 추가경정예산(감액추경)을 계획하고 있는 등 재정위기에 봉착해있는 상황이다. 올해 세수는 지난 7월 기준으로 808억원이 줄었고 연말까지 약 869억원이 줄어들 것으로 예상된다. 이에 더불어민주당 세종시당은 위기에 처한 세종시 상황과 지역 발전을 위한 정책사업을 건의하며 당 차원의 적극적인 관심과 지원을 요청했다. 

이날 더불어민주당 세종시당(위원장 홍성국 국회의원)은 2024년도 주요 사업으로 국회 세종의사당 건립, 대통령 제2집무실 건립, 대평동 종합체육시설 건립, 세종-청주 고속도로 건설, 금강 횡단교량 추가설치, 한국장애인고용공단 세종지사 설치, 세종시 운전면허시험장 건립, 제2컨벤션시설 건립 등 8건의 국비지원과 보통교부세 재정특례 연장이 담긴 세종시법과 세종행정법원 등 설치를 위한 법원설치법 등 2건의 법률 개정을 요청했다.

이에 대해 김민석 정책위의장은 “최근 민생경제가 매우 어려운 상황이다. 그러나 윤석열 정권은 실정을 거듭하며 민생을 외면하고 있다. 정부는 현재의 경제위기를 제대로 인식하고 명확한 정책 대안을 마련해야 할 것이다”고 말하며 “ 세종의사당 관련 현안에 대해 관심 갖고 공부하고 있으며 지속적인 관심과 책임을 갖고 실질적인 도움이 되도록 최선의 노력을 다 할것이다 ”고 말하며 충청권을 제2 수도권으로 보고 모든정책이 일관되게 추진해야 할 것이고 세종시가 내년도 예산을 충분히 확보할 수 있도록 당 차원의 관심과 국회의 지원을 아끼지 않을 것이다”고 말했다고 세종시당이 전했다. 

한편, 홍성국 세종시당 위원장은 “국회규칙 제정에 대한 각별한 관심을 요청하며 앞서 세종시당이 제시한 2024년도 주요 사업이 차질없이 진행될 수 있도록 당 차원의 적극적인 지원을 요청드린다”라고 하였다. 

이날 참석자 모두는 세종시당이 제시한 10건의 주요 사업에 적극적으로 공감하며 앞으로 진행될 정기국회에서 국비 지원 및 법률이 개정될 수 있도록 당 차원의 지속적인 관심과 지원을 약속했다.
