충남 서천군이 전국 최대 규모의 맥문동 군락지에 처음 개최한 ‘제1회 장항 맥문동 꽃 축제’에 축제 기간 전국 각지에서 대규모 관광객이 몰려들면서 축제가 대성황을 이뤘다.

서천군에 따르면 지난 25일부터 29일까지 5일간 장항읍 송림산림욕장에서 ‘보랏빛 물결, 기쁨의 연속’이란 주제로 열린 축제에 20여만명의 관광객이 다녀간 것으로 집계됐다고 밝혔다.

지난 25일 개막식을 시작으로 유명 초대가수의 축하공연 그리고 군민들과 함께 어우러진 지역단체 동아리 공연이 연이어 열리며 축제에 흥겨움을 더했다.

또한, 군은 농촌체험 교육 농장, 농·특산품 홍보 판매전, 맥문동을 활용한 먹거리와 체험 부스 등 풍성한 체험 거리를 제공해 지역경제 활성화 노력과 군민들과 외부 관광객들에게 색다른 재미와 추억을 선사했다.
