민선 8기 지난 1년 이장우호 대전시정에 대한 대전시민들의 평가가 공개된 가운데 응답자 반 이상이 긍정 평가를 한 것으로 나타났다.

이 같은 결과는 대전시가 민선 8기 1주년을 맞아 시정 만족도 여론조사를 진행한 결과, 성별, 연령별, 지역별, 거주기간별, 직종별 모든 응답자 가운데 시민 62.1%가 시정 운영에 대해 긍정적으로 평가한 것으로 나타났다고 밝혔다. 

조사결과 이장우 시장의 시정수행 향후 전망에서 “지금보다 잘할 것”, “지금과 비슷할 것”이라는 긍정적 기대감이 78.9%로 확인돼 민선 8기 대전시정에 대한 시민들의 기대감을 알 수 있었다. 

이번 조사는 대전시가 시정 출범 1주년을 맞아 대전시민 만 18세 이상 성인 남녀 1004명을 대상으로 5월 27일부터 6월 7일까지 여론조사를 진행했다. 

설문은 시정 만족도와 역점 시책 선호도, 우선 추진해야 할 현안, 생활환경 만족도 등을 조사했다. 

‘잘했다’는 긍정 평가 이유로는 ‘기업 투자·유치 등 앞으로 경제가 활성화될 것 같다(28.7%)’, ‘트램 등 숙원사업이 잘 해결되는 것 같다(26.2%)’, ‘복지, 환경, 문화, 체육 등 삶의 질이 향상될 것 같아서(26.0%)’순으로 조사됐다.

‘잘못했다’는 부정적 평가는 23.7%였는데, ‘실질적인 삶의 질이 개선되는 것을 느끼지 못했다(36.1%)’, ‘아직 가시적인 사업 성과가 부족하다(23.9%)’로 응답됐다. 

27개 역점 시책에 대한 선호도에서는 만 70세 이상 시내버스 무료 승차 추진(9.6%)이 가장 높게 평가됐고, 청년 월세 지원 및 청년주택 2만호 공급(8.9%) ,도시철도 2호선 트램 조기 착공(8.1%) ,영·유아 무상보육 및 교육 확대(7.7%) 순으로 시민의 지지를 받았다.

이와 함께 대전둘레산길 국가숲길 지정 ,충청권 광역철도 연내 착공 ,두 자녀 이상 도시철도 무료 승차 ,나노․반도체 국가산단 지정 ,2023 리그오브레전드 결승전 유치 ,노루벌 국가정원․계족산 자연휴양림 조성 시책도 상위 10대 사업으로 집계됐다.

민선 8기 대전시의 향후 중점 추진 과제로는 ‘경제 활성화 및 일자리 창출(37.3%)’이 가장 높은 응답률을 보였고, 뒤이어‘교통․주차여건 개선(16.6%)’,‘보건·복지·의료시설 확충(16.5%)’순으로 나타났다.

앞으로의 시정 수행 전망에 대한 기대감도 ‘지금보다 잘할 것’이란 긍정적 전망이 41.5%,‘지금과 비슷할 것’전망은 37.4%로 나타난 반면, ‘지금보다 못할 것’이라는 응답은 12.7%에 불과해 향후 대전 시정의 점진적 발전에 대한 시민들의 기대감이 큰 것으로 분석됐다.

마지막으로 대전의 생활환경에 대해서는 80.2%가 만족한다고 응답하여 정주 만족도는 매우 높은 것으로 나타났다. 만족 이유로는 ‘주거·환경 부분(32.0%)’을, 불만족 이유로는 ‘문화․여가시설 부족(35.2%)’을 꼽았다.
