Daejeon City, first installation of ‘Ceremonial IC’ as Hi-Pass IC

Daejeon City will first change the Cemetery IC to High Pass IC and proceed with the promotion.

Daejeon City plans to promote this project change as a follow-up measure after the Yuseong-daero ~ Hwasan Bridge road construction project including the National Cemetery IC failed to pass the preliminary feasibility study of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance on the 9th.

Originally, the city of Daejeon established a plan to build a 2.7km Dongseo-daero connection road from Yonggye-dong (Yuseong-daero) to Deokmyeong-dong (Hwasan Bridge) in Yuseong-gu by investing 181.1 billion won by 2030 and to build a memorial IC, and applied for a preliminary feasibility study.

However, as a result of the preliminary feasibility study announced by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance on the 9th, the Yuseong-daero ~ Hwasan Bridge road construction project did not pass the preliminary feasibility study with an economic feasibility of 0.81 and an overall evaluation (AHP) of 0.48, which did not exceed 0.5.

As it failed to pass the preliminary feasibility study, the city of Daejeon changed the Cemetery IC from the originally planned regular IC to a high-pass IC that was inexpensive and confirmed to be feasible in a preliminary review conducted by the Korea Expressway Corporation in 2019 and promoted first. revealed

A regular IC costs about 90 billion won (25 billion won from the government, 65 billion won from the city), while a high-pass IC is expected to be created with 25 billion won (shared by city and road construction).

Accordingly, the city of Daejeon plans to organize a feasibility study for the High-Pass IC at the National Cemetery through a supplementary budget once in 2023, and is scheduled to launch a feasibility study in August. It is planned to open before the Chungcheong World University Games.

Meanwhile, Daejeon City plans to start construction on the 2.7km section of the Dongseo-daero connection road as the first step, and in 2024, the Hakha Public Aid APT project operator will start construction on the 1.2km section first, and the remaining 1.5km section will be promoted step by step in parallel with the undergrounding of the Honam branch line.
