대전시교육청이 8일 10개 기관과 ‘2023년 마을로 찾아가는 초등돌봄교실 운영을 위한 업무협약’을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

마을로 찾아가는 초등돌봄교실은 과밀학교 인근의 작은도서관, 사회적협동조합, 아파트 내 공간 등 마을의 공공시설을 활용한 돌봄서비스를 제공하는 것으로 지역주민들로부터 호응도가 높은 서비스다.

이번 협약은 맞벌이 가정 등 돌봄이 꼭 필요한 학생들을 위해 지역사회가 함께 참여한다는 점에서 큰 의미가 있다는 게 대전교육청의 설명이다.

한편 대전시교육청은 지난 4년간 마을 돌봄기관을 운영하였던 경험을 바탕으로 학부모들이 안심하고 아이들을 맡길 수 있도록 내실 있고 질 높은 돌봄서비스를 제공할 계획이라고 밝혔다.
