세종시가 6일 복합 문화 공간이 어우러진 명품 비단길을 조성하고 아름답고 품격있는 정원도시 를 만들기로 했다.

노동영 환경녹지국장은 이날 오전 시청 정음실에서 이 내용을 담은 '2023년 환경녹지국 주요업무계획'을 발표했다.

계획을 보면 ▲탄소중립 실현 ▲자원순환 중심의 도시순환 ▲비단강 명품강 조성 ▲정원도시 세종 조성 ▲친환경 행복정책 추진 등이다.

먼저 노동영 국장은 “기후변화 대응이 선택의 문제가 아니라 생존의 문제라는 점에 공감하고 정부와 함께 탄소중립을 적극 실현하겠다”고 말했다.

이를 위해 에너지, 건물, 교통, 축산, 폐기물, 공원녹지 등 부문별 전략 및 세부계획을 마련하고 오는 ‘2050년까지 탄소배출 제로화를 목표로 연도별 계획에 맞춰 온실가스 배출량을 감축해 나간다.

올해 말 배출가스 5등급 경유차량의 운행제한 전면 시행에 대비해, 운행제한 시행기간, 배출가스 저감조치 방법 등을 홍보해 시민의 자발적 참여를 유도한다.

"친환경적이고 지속가능한 자원순환 중심도시를 만들기 위해  인구 증가로 발생량이 급증하고 있는 생활폐기물을 안정적으로 처리하기 위한 기반을 마련하고, 시민이 공감하는 폐기물 감량 정책을 추진한다.

또 "친환경종합타운 설치를 위한 공감대 형성을 위해 간담회, 선진시설 견학 등 주민들과 지속적으로 소통하여 올해 상반기 중 폐기물처리시설 입지를 결정·고시한다.
