성탄절을 맞아 대전 서구에 소재한 경성유치원 원생들이 성탄절을 맞아 이색 성탄행사를 개최해 눈길을 끌었다.

경성유치원은 23일,  ‘산타 할아버지에게 소원 빌기’ 카드를 만들어 그중 ‘효행부문’과 ‘빛나는 소원부문’에 대해 표창을 수여했다.

해마다 성탄절이 되면 산타가 반드시 나타나는 곳은 전국에 있는 유치원과 어린이집이다. 산타를 믿는 아이들의 ‘동심’ 만큼은 지켜주고 싶은 현장에 있는 교사들의 자존심이 아직도 있기 때문이다.

경성유치원은 성탄절 행사로 유치원 내에 과자로 만든 커다란 과자트리를 만들고 △성탄절 가족케익 만들기 △산타에게 편지쓰기(소원빌기) △산타와 함께하기(산타선물받기) △케롤부르며 율동하기 등 행사를 펼쳤다. 

‘산타에게 소원빌기’ 행사를 진행하면서 경성유치원은 대부분 원아들이 장난감이나 갖고 싶은 선물들을 적어 놓았지만 ‘효’나 혹은 ‘가족’에 관련된 소원을 비는 편지를 쓴 원아가 나타나면서 이들 원아에 대한 표창을 수여했다고 유치원은 설명했다.

이날 행사에서 표창을 받은 원아는 ‘효행 부문’에서는 아라반의 김이은 원아가 “할머니가 아프지 않았으면 좋겠어요”라는 편지와 나빛반 최연재 원아의 “아빠가 회사에서 일등하는 것”으로 표창을 받았다. 

또한 ‘빛나는 소원부문’에서는 나빛반 최이준 원아의 “저는 멋진 책을 받고 싶어요. 꼭 가져다주세요”가 선정돼 표창장을 수상했다.

김혜숙 원감은 “때 묻지 않은 동심과 또 크리스마스를 위해 한 해 동안 열심히 생활해 온 전국의 많은 유아들이 표창장을 받는 것은 당연한 권리이기도 하다”며 “우리나라의 소중한 새싹이자 미래의 꿈인 유아들이 무럭무럭 꿈꾸며 아름다운 세상을 만들어 갈 수 있도록 지켜봐주는게 중요하다고 생각한다”고 말했다.

수상한 원아의 담임을 맡고 있는 문수정 교사는 “올해의 효행부문 수상은작은 겨울철 지병으로 고생하시는 할머니를 위한 손주의 마음과 코로나19로 힘든 아빠를 응원하는 편지가 선택됐고 더불어 경성유치원은 원훈에 맞게 책읽기를 권장하기 때문에 책을 선물받고 싶어하는 원아의 소원을 수상작으로 선택했다”고 말했다.

경성유치원은 대전지역 서구 사립유치원 중 유일하게 학교법인 춘담학원에서 운영하는 유치원으로 품성바른어린이(인사잘하기), 지혜로운어린이(독서권장), 건강한어린이(놀이중심교육실천)의 원훈으로 내년이면 28회 졸업생을 배출할 정도로 역사와 전통이 있다.
