정례회 기간 회의에 불참하면서 카타르 현지 월드컵 경기를 관람하고 온 대전서구의회 최규 의원이 윤리위에 회부될 것인지에 대한 정치권의 관심이 모이지고 있는 가운데 대전서구의회가 윤리위를 소집했다.

대전서구의회 윤리특별위원회(위원장 조규식)는 12월 7일 1시 30분, 제273회 서구의회 제2차 정례회 회기 중 제1차 윤리특별위원회 회의를 열고, 전날 17시에 회부 된 윤리특별위원회의 긴급공지를 통해 대전광역시 서구의회 의원 최규 징계 요구의 건 ,윤리심사자문위원회 소집의 건에 대해 회의를 진행하는 한편 오는 9일 오후 4시 서구의회윤리자문위원회의를 소집했다. 

윤리자문위원회를 소집한 만큼 최규 의원에 대한 징계논의는 불가피해 보인다.

윤리위를 소집할 정도의 논란을 부른 최규 의원은 이번 사태와 관련해 지난 5일 서구의회 제273회 제2차 정례회 2차 본회의에서 신상 발언을 통해 “최근 주민들과 의회 동료 의원을 포함해 여러 방면으로 이슈가 되는 부분에 사과의 말씀을 전한다. 주민의 대표로서, 또한 의회 의원으로서 신중하게 행동했어야 했는데, 경솔한 행동으로 큰 파장을 일으켰다.”라고 발언한 바 있다.
