이영신 단장을 주축으로 대한민국과 유럽 무대에서 각자 솔리스트로 활발한 활동을 하는 성악가들로 구성된 전문예술단체인 솔리스트디바가 이달 10일 대전 동구청 공연장에서 창작오페라 '코스모스를 죽였다'를 초연한다.

2004년 창단연주를 기점으로 정기 연주, 기획 연주를 매년 진행하고 있을 뿐만 아니라 대중을 찾아가서 고품격의 음악을 전하는 솔리스트디바는 우리의 가곡 및 오페라 등 다양한 프로그램을 관객과의 호흡을 통해 시민의 문화 향유 기회는 물론 다양한 교육과 문화예술 발전을 위해 노력하는 단체이다.

각자의 개성을 살린 오페라와 뮤지컬뿐만 아니라 여성의 섬세한 소리와 아름다운 화음으로 왕성한 활동을 하고 있으며 창작오페라 '소리마녀의비밀상자', '구운몽, 인생은 덧 없어라', '점례와 영자' 등을 제작하여 무대에 올리는 오페라 제작소로서 대전지역을 대표하는 작품을 제작하기 위해 노력하고 있으며 올해에는 '코스모스를 죽였다'라는 창작오페라를 바리톤 한정현, 메조소프라노 구은서, 테너 권순찬, 소프라노 김수정, 테너 손차윤, 배우 문성필과 함께 연주회를 개최할 예정이다. 

대전 동구청 공연장에서 열리는 이번 연주회는 윤희일 장편소설 '코스모스를 죽였다'를 바탕으로 창작오페라를 제작하여 치매로 고통받는 가족들의 아픔을 그리려 한다. 

빠르게 진행되는 치매를 앓게 된 아내와 그런 아내를 헌신적으로 뒷바라지하는 남편, 자신이 남편을 알아보지 못하게 되는 그날 자신을 죽여 달라고 하는 아내, 그런 상황이 되면 둘이서 함께 죽겠다고 결심하는 남편, 창작오페라 '코스모스를 죽였다'는 치매 환자만의 고통이 아닌 함께하는 가족의 힘겨운 모습을 함께 비추어 줌으로써 가족애를 느낄 수 있게 해주는 오페라이다.

너무나도 사랑했기에 꺾을 수밖에 없었던 코스모스, 사랑과 헌신이 주는 가족사랑의 가치를 되새기게 하는 이 작품을 오페라 창작제작소인 솔리스트디바와 함께 공감하기를 바란다.
